I am so excited about this winter blueberry farm engagement session at Olde Carthage Farm in Carthage, North Carolina. It is sometimes difficult to find a pretty location for photos during the winter in North Carolina. The leafless trees and dead grass don’t make for very romantic photos. When Marliese let me know that she and Bredell wanted to have their engagement photos taken in late December, I knew that I had my work cut out for me to find a romantic location at that time of year. Luckily, I live down the road from an old blueberry farm. It’s beautiful in the spring and summer, and amazingly, it’s absolutely beautiful in the winter as well! While most of the local trees are colorless in December, the blueberry bushes we a beautiful shade of red and still retain some of their small red leaves. This farm also has a small lake, which is a feature that Bredell had requested for their photos. The amazing owners of this farm graciously let us use their farm for the photos, and I am so glad they did!
Despite the cold weather, Bredell and Marliese had amazing chemistry with each other. You can tell that they are best friends as well as lovers. They are also ridiculously photogenic! Marliese brought a blanket that her oma had made for her. It was such a sweet addition to the session and probably made this chilly session a bit more comfortable! We can’t wait for their upcoming fall wedding at Vizcaya Villa.
I hope you enjoy these photos!
